About Adopting a PF Scholar

To adopt a PF scholar means that you take direct financial responsibility for the education of a specific PF scholar (student). This includes paying academic fees and other associated academic cost for an amount of time specified – a term, a session (three terms) or longer.

A regular adoption involves submitting a formal application to the Ministry of Women Affairs or relevant child welfare department in your country or city, undergoing a home study, and obtaining consent from the child's biological parents or guardian, as applicable.

Yes. Depending on the scholar’s needs and the level of support you wish to offer, you may also cover books, uniforms, exam fees, and more. Please call +234 805 222 0007 or email us at education@pistisfoundation.org to extend your support.

In this context, a session refers to the full academic year, typically divided into three terms.

Yes, an automated email reminder is sent to adopters periodically once they have signed up.

Financial & Payment Information

Costs may vary due to the scholar’s academic level, location or school. However, the average rate for primary and secondary scholars is about ₦450,000 (approx. $300) – ₦650,000 (approx. $433) per session. Academic costs for tertiary scholars are currently ₦650,000 (approx. $433). These figures are subject to prevailing economic factors and inflationary rates.

Yes. You can contribute a partial amount towards the school fees.

A small administrative fee has been added to cover platform and processing costs. The exact amount is displayed before you make your payment.

Donations can be made in Nigerian Naira or USD using your debit card, via secure payment platforms such as Paystack and Korapay.

Yes. A digital receipt is automatically generated and sent to your email after payment.

Sponsorship & Communication

Yes. Adopters/sponsors will receive regular updates, including academic reports and progress feedback at the end of each term.

You can sponsor a scholar for up to fourteen (14) years from Primary (Year) 1 till they finish their university education.

Yes. Sponsors who prefer to remain anonymous can indicate this during the donation process. All communications and records will respect your privacy accordingly.

Mentorship Program

The mentorship program pairs dedicated professionals with scholars to offer guidance, encouragement, and accountability across their academic and personal growth—complementing the financial support they receive.

An adult (age 30+) with a passion for education and youth development and at least 3 years’ experience in leadership.

Yes. We ask mentors to commit to at least one full academic session (approximately 9 months), though many choose to continue longer.

Mentors typically meet or connect with their scholar monthly (in-person or virtual) to help set academic goals and track progress. They would also provide emotional support and serve as a positive role model.

Yes, based on your availability and qualifications. Let us know your preferences during the application process.

It is formal. Mentors receive guides, training, and a suggested schedule, though you can adjust based on your mentor/scholar relationship.

Mentors complete an application and indicate areas of interest. We then match scholars based on need and compatibility.

Yes. With your permission, Pistis Foundation would acknowledge mentors on its website and in newsletters.

Complete the online Mentor Application Form. Your application would be reviewed and if successful, you are invited to an interview to be followed by an onboarding session.

Education Trust Fund

The Education Trust Fund is a dedicated pool of resources set aside to support long-term educational needs, such as tuition, learning materials, and school-related costs for PF scholars.

To ensure a sustainable, transparent, and structured approach to financing education for our scholars, regardless of changing economic conditions.

All PF scholars. The Trust fund supports both new intakes and ongoing scholars.

Yes. Monthly, quarterly, or annual recurring donations can be set up.

Yes, an official receipt is generated immediately after your donation.

Donations may be tax-deductible depending on local laws.
