Age: 11 | Aspiration: A Bright Dreamer Rising Above Challenges
Ifunanya, one of five children, has faced great hardships since losing her father in 2014. Raised by her widowed mother in a flood-prone single room in Mende Village, Lagos, their family often sought refuge in a nearby church during heavy rains. Life was uncertain and education seemed out of reach.
Before joining the Kids-Off-The-Street (KOTS) Shelter, Ifunanya’s living conditions exposed her to constant risk. Her mother, a hardworking street vendor selling seasonal goods, struggled to provide enough for meals and education.
Today, Ifunanya is flourishing academically and is determined to build a future as a fashion designer.
